2024 Visiting Professor Equality Diversity and Inclusion Series
Dr Laura Winter is an HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist, BPS Chartered Psychologist and Reader in Education and Counselling Psychology at the University of Manchester (UoM). She is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, past Programme Director of the UoM Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Environment, Education and Development. Her research has focused on the connections between social justice, politics, and education and psychological therapies. Recent work includes the Sage Handbook of Social Justice in Psychological Therapies (with Prof Divine Charura, 2023), and the Sage Handbook of Counselling and Psychotherapy (5th edition with Prof Terry Hanley, 2023, and 4th edition with Profs Colin Feltham and Terry Hanley in 2017). She is a white woman, with three young children, living in Derbyshire, UK, and currently not disabled
