IT Services have been alerted to a series of spear phishing emails currently targeting members of the University sector in Ireland.
These emails may come from individuals you trust in Irish universities so it's important to be extra vigilant if you receive any unusual messages from colleagues both in Trinity and other universities.
Please note, the content of these emails is more sophisticated than normal phishing emails, so you may believe them to be genuine emails.
What to do if you have your doubts about an email:
- Do not reply to the message or click any links in the email.
- Verify the emails authenticity by contacting the sender via an alternative method - For example, via a phone call or Teams chat.
- Use the Phish Alert Button in Outlook to report it directly to the IT Service Desk.
