Panopto Student Video Assignments
You can combine Panopto with the Blackboard Assignments tool to enable a streamlined workflow where students can create videos using Panopto Capture, which you can then grade using the standard Blackboard assignments options. For more details, please see our section on Video Assignments in Blackboard on the Blackboard assignments page.
Prerequisites:
Panopto Assignments Folder: When you create a Panopto Student Submission Assignment, a dedicated Panopto Assignments subfolder is automatically generated in your module's Panopto folder. This folder is secure, containing students' video recordings prior to submission. It's important to note that students cannot view each other's submissions in this folder, ensuring their work is private. Prerequisite: Ensure you have added Panopto to your Blackboard module.
Submission Process for Students: Students will use Panopto to create a video recording, which will be initially saved in the 'Assignments' folder. The video is automatically moved into a student submission subfolder once a student is ready to submit their final version. The instructor can access and grade the videos in the Blackboard grade centre. It's crucial to note that once a video is submitted, students no longer have access to this final version, ensuring the integrity of the grading process.
Important Note: The student may want to edit their videos multiple times before submitting, so it's recommended that they save these drafts to their own "My Folder" within their Blackboard Panopto account. For more details on this process, refer to the Student Guide for creating and submitting video assignments.
