Professor Aileen Kavanagh was presented with the Main Author prize at a ceremony in the Inner Temple, London, on Tuesday, 2nd December. The award was presented by HRH The Princess Royal in her role as Patron of the Inner Temple Book Prize.

Aileen with the AwardThe Inner Temple Book Prize is a triennial award open to scholars from around the world, recognising "outstanding legal scholarship". It is widely considered one of the most eminent honours in legal publishing.

During the ceremony, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Dingemans (Court of Appeal of England and Wales) described The Collaborative Constitution as a "landmark book" and a "profound contribution to the field".

Professor Aileen Kavanagh holds the Chair of Constitutional Governance at the Trinity College Dublin School of Law, where she serves as the inaugural Director of TriCON, the Trinity Centre for Constitutional Governance. Her winning book, The Collaborative Constitution, challenges the conventional narrative of constitutional separation of powers, arguing instead for a collaborative enterprise among all branches of government.

The book has previously garnered significant international praise, with Professor Mark Tushnet of Harvard Law School describing it as "one of those rare field-defining works that will stimulate discussion and further scholarship for years to come".

The School of Law extends its warmest congratulations to Professor Kavanagh on this enormous achievement.
