AASPIRE Suicide Prevention Project
The AASPIRE Suicide Prevention Project (SPP) is a group of autistic community partners, researchers, and clinicians who are committed to suicide prevention for the autistic community. We work together on research projects about suicide risk and prevention for the autistic community. We are part of a larger community-based participatory research (CBPR) collaborative called the Academic Autism Spectrum Partnership in Research and Education (AASPIRE).
Our team has led two grants funded by the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health – one ongoing and one completed. Our studies have incorporated qualitative methods, program development and testing, and large quantitative secondary data analysis. We make every decision together as a team. We also consult with other research teams, including an OAR-funded project led by Emily Rothman, ScD (Boston University).
Further details about our research projects are available at our project website.
