Transition Year Programme 2026
The School of Nursing and Midwifery runs a one-week programme for transition year students, taking in approximately 50 students each year. The students will spend three of the five days in a classroom setting in our building on D’Olier Street and on the Trinity College campus. They will learn about the professions of nursing and midwifery from our lecturers, students and clinical colleagues. In addition, there will be presentations on the services and supports provided for students of Trinity College Dublin.
The other two days of the programme will be held in our Clinical Skills Suite which is located in the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St James’s Hospital, Dublin 8.
To maximise school participation, only one student per school will be accepted onto the programme in the first round of offers. Students who do not secure a place in the first round will be placed on a waiting list. Should a student who has been offered a place withdraw from the programme, then their place will be offered to those on the waiting list.
