Prof Peter Stone, Head of the Political Science Department, recently contributed his expertise to a Guardian feature on the rising prominence of Citizens’ Assemblies. In Eva Talmadge’s 1 February article, “Citizens’ Assemblies: Are They the Future of Democracy?”, Stone discussed how these assemblies bring diverse citizens together to deliberate on complex issues, generating informed recommendations that political institutions can act upon.
