Trinity College Dublin announced a new cohort of Fellows and Scholars today, on Trinity Monday. Provost Dr Linda Doyle, following the tradition, stood on the steps of the Public Theatre in Front Square at 10 am to read out their names.

In total, there are 73 new Scholars this year, 43 new Fellows, three new Professorial Fellows and four Honorary Fellows across a range of disciplines.

Provost Dr Linda Doyle said:

"I warmly congratulate all those who have been elected to Fellowship and Scholarship today. It really is a remarkable academic achievement, and forms part of a long and special tradition at Trinity College Dublin.

I also want to congratulate every single person who sat the Schols exams this year. Maith sibh go léir.”

This year’s Scholars come from a broad range of disciplines, including Law, Medicine, Computer Science, Nursing and English Studies. Each Scholar is entitled to a range of benefits, including free accommodation on campus. They are selected based on the result of an examination in their subject area.
