Trinity ranks highly in 42 subjects in 2025 QS World University Rankings

Trinity has four subjects in the top 50 globally in the latest ranking.
Trinity College Dublin has broadened its reach in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
This year, Trinity was named as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 42 subjects, up from 40 last year.

Nursing (=20)
English (27)
Pharmacy (=34)
Performing Arts (43)
Trinity also has 18 other subjects in the QS top 100 globally (for an unchanged total of 22 in the top 100): Classics and Ancient History, Dentistry, Geography, History, Marketing (ranked for first time), Philosophy, Social Policy & Administration, Sports-related subjects, Theology, Modern Languages, Accounting & Finance, Law, Education, Politics and International Studies, Chemistry, Medicine, Psychology, and Materials Science.
Of the 42 subjects ranked overall, five climbed the table, 20 dropped, 14 remained unchanged and three ranked for the first time.
The QS 2025 Subject Rankings are compiled by higher education analyst QS Quacquarelli Symonds from a review of 1,700 universities across 55 disciplines.
Universities are scored according to academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact (citations) and cross-border research collaborations.
Trinity College Dublin is Ireland’s leading university and is ranked 87th in the world in the 2025 QS World University Ranking across all indicators.
