  • Prof. Michael Dolan, brain immunology expert, elected a FENS-Kavli Scholar

    Prof. Dolan, from Trinity’s School of Genetics and Microbiology, has been announced as one of 15 new FENS-Kavli Scholars. He has been selected as an early career, independent neuroscience investigator based in Europe, who has already demonstrated scientific excellence, originality, and leadership.

  • Champion boxer Katie Taylor receives honorary degree from Trinity 

    Katie Taylor, Sharon Shannon, civil rights lawyer Baroness Helena Kennedy and Sister Helen Prejean, the anti-death penalty activist who was depicted by Susan Sarandon in the film version of ‘Dead Man Walking’, were all honoured, as was Colm Tóibín, writer of some of the most successful Irish-authored books of the 21st century.

    Prof. Denise Fitzgerald, from Trinity’s School of Medicine, has been awarded €6.26 million Research Professorship funding from Research Ireland to investigate how ageing affects the ways the immune system helps repair brain tissue in illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
