The AI for Healthcare Professionals programme is an applied, practice-oriented introduction to how data, analytics and artificial intelligence can support safer, more efficient and more patient‑centred care. It is designed for professionals who work with patients, manage services, or support digital and data initiatives, and who need an understanding of what AI can realistically do in healthcare and how to use it.
Over eight online sessions, participants move from core concepts in healthcare data and basic analytics to concrete AI applications that enhance day‑to‑day clinical practice and healthcare service delivery. The programme explores common challenges such as fragmented and legacy systems, variable data quality, and the difficulty of embedding new tools into existing routines and introduces practical ways to address these issues so that AI projects generate visible value.
Who is this programme designed for?
- Clinical Directors, hospital executives, and department heads
- Healthcare administrators overseeing operational efficiency and service design
- Policy-makers and strategic planners within government or healthcare agencies
- Technology leads and transformation managers working on digital health initiatives
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this programme, learners will be able to:
- Critically analyse and develop data strategies that move from descriptive to predictive analytics to support patient care, clinical decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Develop a data-driven innovation plan tailored to the healthcare sector, moving from prediction to prescription to improve patient outcomes and resource management.
- Identify and select suitable analytical techniques and AI tools for specific challenges, including Chatbots, LLMs, and GenAI applications.
- Communicate effectively with data scientists and healthcare IT teams to translate healthcare functional expertise into analytics integrated workflows and AI tools.
- Evaluate and prioritise AI-driven innovations by assessing organizational readiness, and potential improvements in patient care and organisational efficiency.

Those opting to apply via the Certificate of Completion route are not required to complete the assignment.
Micro-Credentials Assessment
Develop a comprehensive healthcare analytics and AI implementation proposal (15-20 slide presentation) for one of the following:
- Your own healthcare organization
- A fictional healthcare scenario
Project Requirements
Your project should propose AI implementation to address a challenge and incorporate discussion on data, AI techniques, and frameworks covered across the eight-session program.
